You were made for something bigger, bolder
yet softer and slower.
It’s time to pause and listen within,
to move your body in ways that invigorate you
and embolden your feminine form.
You were meant for something freer, lighter,
and less harsh.
It’s time to let go of what no longer serves you
Lisa McCrohan, MA, LCSW-C, SEP
I have been listening. Listening to my own heart and body. Listening to my clients. Listening to my family and friends. This is what I’m hearing: as this pandemic wears on, it is wearing on our nervous systems, bodies, and souls. It’s taxing and we easily get overwhelmed. And it’s bringing up where we don’t have control and that’s hard for us. What we need isn’t more information, more stimulation, and more scrolling online.
What we need: EXPERIENCES and COMMUNITY.
As a Somatic Experiencing Psychotherapist, when I work with clients, we drop INTO the present moment and into the body. We slow down (hard to do some times, I know!). We create space and hold space in a skillful way for “something different” to happen – to organically undo the stuck activation within us, move it through, and have access to that life force energy again in a way where we can then harness and channel it! It’s sacred work.
I love my 1:1 work. AND I love teaching and holding space for a group of people to build their capacity for presence. Presence for both discomfort and pleasure, the sufferings and the joys.
When the pandemic started, I took time to find my anchors. I felt moved to offer the meditation series, Calm in the Chaos, to give listeners a guided poetic experience of feeling their nervous systems coming into regulation while I continued to see a lot of clients in my private practice (now via Zoom!). But no program or course.
Then, earlier in August, I felt the sacred inner nudge, “Lisa, what people need are experiences of body-soul nourishment and light-kindling inspiration. Use your poetry and your sacred feminine embodiment practices and hold space for community.”
So that’s what I’m doing.
And I’m calling it Soul Fuel.
Soul Fuel is here to kindle your inner light and to help all of our light rise. THIS is what we need right now in our world.
Take a listen to one of the mini Soul Fuel Poetry Breaks, Rising, as an example of just one of the inspirations I’ll send out throughout our FIVE months together.
I didn’t want to offer a one-month experience. We need more than that. I want to journey with a group of people and take them into spaces and places within themselves where they feel their resilience deepening, their souls being nourished, their bodies feeling revitalized, and their light shining.
On Monday, August 24, at 7 am EST, Early Bird Registration will open.
Some people have already said, “Sign me up!” I’m grateful.
You can find out more on my Soul Fuel page.
I hope you’ll join me. We are in this together (and if you know me, you know how sincerely I say this).
