Today is a New Day

Today is a new day.

I begin this day
with my hand on my heart –

breathing in kindness,
breathing out kindness.
I choose to softly smile.

Relaxing my shoulders,
I know that God accompanies me
wherever I go.
I am loved –
deeply, tenderly, completely.

I let this love flow from me
as an offering to all those
I will greet today.

Today is a beautiful day.

When you wake up and open your eyes, pause for a moment.  Before you begin your day and possibly start in with habits that may not nourish you, try something different: stretch for a moment and then put your hand on your heart. Soften your eyes and feel the breath flowing in and out.  Connect to this aliveness.  Breathe in kindness, breathe out kindness…

I’ve created a new poetic meditation series to help us in these turbulent, unknown, and anxiety-provoking times.  How we start our day matters.  I invite you to join me in experiencing a patch of stillness, kindness, and presence as you wake up.  Two times a week – on Mondays and Thursdays – for four weeks, receive a poetic meditation and be guided into a still place within you for a calmer, more resilient nervous system, body, mind, heart, and soul.  You can listen to my “Welcome and Introduction” to Calm in the Chaos: a poetic meditation series.
