I’m going to get outside even more these next fe

I’m going to get outside even more these next few days and also spend some time figuring out homeschooling for our kiddos while I see clients and give attention to them, my writings, and creating my poetic mediations. So I’m going to be offline for a bit.

. Daily Delight . I hear you are stressed and over

.
Daily Delight
.
I hear you are stressed
and overwhelmed.
I hear the angst in your voice.
I know you aren’t sleeping well -
up worrying and trying to
rearrange everything.

These times call for beauty.
They call for delight.
How is delight possible
in times like these? .
You go outside and
you look around.
You hear the birds chirping,
watch the clouds slowly moving,
notice flowers showing off their yellows and purples,
and feel the wind against your face.
.
You pet your dog
and watch your cat sleeping in a sunbeam.
.
You listen to your body
and give it what it needs -
space to feel, space to rest, space
to vigorously move,
and nourishing food to eat.
.
You put your hand on the earth -
or lay your whole body against it -
and feel Mother Earth supporting you,
grounding you, showing you that
you pulse with the same
life force energy flowing through you.
.
You look for delight - one small
moment of daily delight.
And you embrace it.

I’m coming back to delight. Over five years ago, I started a #dailydelightproject - noticing and sometimes sharing moments of delight. But I stopped sharing because I thought that no one really cared about delight.
.
Well, I’ve seen how delight has nourished me and reminds me that there is beauty in this world, how it softens my heart, how it opens my heart to have compassion, and how it connects me to myself, this earth, and the world. I’ve seen how our world needs a dose of delight right now.
.
As I wrote in my book, Gems of Delight, “Delight doesn’t discount my suffering. Actually, delight is healing balm for my suffering. It allows my suffering to be here, too, and it shows me that pleasure and goodness are right here in my life to be experienced as a gift of hope even amid difficult times. Delight creates the sacred space within to remind me that Life and Live always find a way.”
.
So I hope you’ll join me in this #dailydelightproject - cultivating your own practice of daily delight.

The other day, I got onto the trampoline with my kiddos. And I bounced so high and it felt so amazing!!
